Facilities Manager / Estate Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Facilities Manager / Estate Engineer to take full operational ownership of two significant private residences a luxury estate in Montecito, CA and a luxury residence in Palm Springs, CA.

This role is built for a true engineering and facilities professional: someone who deeply understands building systems, thinks proactively about asset protection, and can move fluidly between technical problem-solving and high-level vendor and project management. The candidate must be equally comfortable diagnosing a mechanical issue themselves and managing a multi-trade capital improvement project.

Both properties are maintained to the highest standard. The Facilities Manager will be the single point of accountability for keeping them that way anticipating problems before they arise, ensuring all systems operate at peak performance, and delivering a seamless living environment for the owner and guests.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated hands-on expertise across the following:

• HVAC & climate control
• Electrical systems
• Plumbing & water systems
• Standby power maintenance
• Building automation / smart home programming
• Pool & spa monitoring
• Structural & building envelope management

Qualifications include:

• 7+ years of facilities management or estate engineering experience, preferably in high-end residential, luxury hospitality, or comparable environments
• Deep familiarity with building automation and smart home platforms (Control4, Lutron, Crestron, Savant, or equivalent)
• Proven track record managing complex, multi-vendor service programs with high accountability
• Ability to plan and execute capital projects independently scoping, bidding, scheduling, and quality oversight
• Valid California driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
• Comfortable with physical demands lifting, climbing, working outdoors in varied conditions
• Available for on-call emergency response

Schedule:

General schedule is Monday-Friday, standard business hours. Flexibility may be required.

Compensation:

We expect to pay $150,000 to $225,000 plus bonus, benefits, and paid vacation.

We are prepared to offer a relocation package and can offer offsite, furnished housing in Montecito.
