Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Location: Fremont, CA 94538
Duration: 12 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Shift: 10 AM-6.30PM M-F (Training will be one week and their schedule will be 8am-5pm.)

Summary:

The Building Maintenance Technician plays a key role in providing facility services support to the site by maintaining laboratories and offices in a cGMP manufacturing facility. The role supports site improvements and special projects, ensures facility activities adhere to quality system standards, and maintains the facility in a constant state of inspection readiness. Responsibilities include interacting with building occupants to resolve issues related to temperature, plumbing, leaks, noise, odors, fire systems, and other facility concerns, as well as executing facility-related capital projects, coordinating tenant improvements, and managing contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain facility equipment and utilities in compliance with regulatory standards and ensure they remain in good working order.
  • Review and understand equipment operation, Building Management Systems (BMS), fire/life safety systems, and other facility systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other installed building systems.
  • Operate and maintain HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, building management systems, and perform general building repairs.
  • Conduct facility inspections and report conditions affecting operations.
  • Recognize deviations from accepted practices and perform troubleshooting using hand and power tools, test equipment, operating manuals, specifications, drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Apply cGMP knowledge in daily operations.
  • Maintain documentation through work orders, preventive maintenance records, root cause analyses, management reports, discrepancy/non-conformance reports, engineering change orders (ECOs), and validation documentation.
  • Communicate work assignment status to internal customers.
  • Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage or support audit and compliance activities.
  • Assist with updating, creating, and assigning work orders.
  • Promote and follow safe work practices at all times.
  • Respond to emergency notifications.
  • Perform assignments ranging from routine to complex with sound judgment, initiative, and documented analysis.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 4 years of related experience.
  • 2 3 years of experience working in a cGMP environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding of quality systems and change order requirements in a validated facility.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow spoken and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with contractors and employees.
