Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and repair of parking facilities, including garages, surface lots, and related equipment. This role supervises maintenance staff, coordinates inspections and repairs, ensures compliance with safety standards, and helps provide a safe and functional parking environment for customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily maintenance operations for parking garages, surface lots, and access areas.
- Inspect parking facilities regularly to identify maintenance, repair, and safety issues.
- Monitor cleanliness of parking areas, including sweeping, pressure washing, trash removal, and snow/ice removal if applicable.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff
- Assign work orders and/or track completion of maintenance tasks.
- Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, parts, and equipment.
- Respond to emergencies such as equipment failures, spills, accidents, or hazardous conditions.
- Coordinate with parking operations, security, and property management teams to minimize service disruptions.
- Supervise parking maintenance team in accordance with the director, manager and department's policies, procedures and applicable laws.
- Responsible for training and disciplining parking maintenance colleagues. as well as assists and provides input on colleague perform reviews.
- Maintain department and colleague records and reports, when necessary.
- Responsible for preparing incident and damage reports.
- Work closely with Corporate Security, when necessary, to ensure the safety of our guests and colleagues.
- Responsible for supervising the upkeep and cleanliness of all parking facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A minimum of Associate Degree or Technical Training Certification required.
- 2-years’ experience involving parking services or facilities maintenance, of which one year must have been in a supervisory/management capacity.
- Ability to use maintenance management software and/or basic computer programs.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess effective human relations and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrate readiness to undertake position responsibilities on one's own and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to read, understand, and convey technical documents, including but not limited to policies, safety procedures, maintenance instructions and operator manuals.
- Will require working evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts for emergencies.
- Maintain a valid Michigan Driver’s License with good driving record.
Working Conditions
- Extended periods of standing in all types of weather conditions
- Position may require stooping, crouching, or kneeling
- Ability to lift of move up to 25 pounds
- Position may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicle exhaust
