Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.To support Blue Origin's ambitious vision of millions of people living and working in space, we are seeking a qualified Facilities Industrial Engineer to join our Facilities Expansion Planning team in Florida.The Facilities Expansion Planning team is responsible for the tactical and strategic planning of industrial, office, warehouse, and testing facilities to support the rapid growth of Blue Origin programs across the country. This role specifically will support our locations in Florida.This role will have a direct impact on multiple Blue Origin initiatives, including our New Glenn and Lunar Permanence programs.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!ResponsibilitiesOwn and maintain the process for allocating floor space to workcentersSupport multiple workcenter construction projects of varying complexity, budget, and duration for new and existing Blue Origin facilitiesOwn and maintain the intake process for capital construction projectsOwn and maintain the backlog and program schedule for capital projectsMaintain the schedule and budget reporting dashboards for all in-process capital projectsWork with internal customers to gather requirements for constructionLead the workcenter programming and sizing efforts, often working with external architects and engineering design firmsCreate flexible workcenter layouts that minimize capital expenditure and support manufacturing rate requirementsSupport construction cost estimates for business case justificationsReduce expected construction costs through Value EngineeringAssess the financial viability of capital projects through the use of Net Present Value analysisWrite technical memos to request capital funds for new projects, or to make recommendations for other improvementsWork with other facilities partners to plan the movement of peopleReport-out to executive leadership on status of workcenter capital projectsContinuously improve the requirements gathering process and procedures through iterationShow determination by questioning decisions when necessary and committing to the set direction to maintain team harmony and dedication to goalsAdopt long-term thinking by owning responsibilities, prioritizing organizational interests, ensuring safety, and proactively solving problemsOptimize resources to accomplish more with less, encourage self-sufficiency and innovation, and embrace calculated risks to advanceMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or similar fields8+ years of Industrial Engineering experience5+ years of project management experienceDemonstrated experience supporting the build out of manufacturing facilities and workcentersCompetence with the Microsoft Software Suite (in particular, MS Project and Excel)Proficiency with using AutoCAD for workcenter layoutsPreferred QualificationsExperience in the full lifecycle of workcenter-readiness projects: from requirements gathering to turnover for operationsExperience in making the business case for and managing capital budgetsExperience in aerospace, defense, or other high-sensitivity environments (ITAR)Experience in supporting the transition from low-volume development to high-volume productionFamiliarity with the construction process of a manufacturing environmentProject Management Certification (PMP or other)Proficiency with Atlassian's Jira softwareFamiliarity with the Critical Path MethodProficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar softwareProficiency with Microsoft PowerPointCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
