Location: Tempe & Peoria, AZ (Onsite – Construction & Operations Support) - position starts in both location, then transitions to Peoria, AZ
Employment Type: Full-time with 10% bonus

A large-scale manufacturing site is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Facilities Environmental Engineer to support the construction, operation, and ongoing compliance of its environmental utilities and systems. This role is essential to maintaining safe, clean, and regulation-compliant operations across water treatment, air quality, and chemical handling processes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate and maintain key environmental systems, including Ultra-Pure Water, Wastewater Treatment, and Air Pollution Control

  • Monitor and control equipment to maintain proper flow, pressure, temperature, and chemical levels

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with pumps, fans, filters, ion exchange beds, and related systems

  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, OSHA, etc.)

  • Create and maintain system documentation: SOPs, preventive maintenance plans, action plans, and training materials

  • Respond to equipment failures and out-of-specification conditions, including emergency maintenance

  • Interpret process data and identify trends or anomalies in system performance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contractors to support construction, commissioning, and facility upgrades

  • May support Environmental Response Team (ERT) responsibilities and additional tasks based on operational needs

What You Bring:

  • Associate’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Atmospheric, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)

  • 3+ years of experience working in environmental operations, utilities, or facilities maintenance

  • Solid understanding of wastewater treatment, clean water systems, air quality controls, and chemical handling

  • Familiarity with federal and state environmental laws and permitting processes

  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards, risk mitigation, and emergency response protocols

  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans and system schematics

  • Strong communication, analytical, and collaboration skills

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and facility management software

  • Willingness to work overtime or respond to emergencies as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work indoors/outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and wearing a personal respirator

  • May be exposed to industrial chemicals and equipment-related noise

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in large-scale plant environments or complex engineering projects

  • Prior involvement with cleanroom utilities, energy-saving initiatives, or advanced manufacturing operations

  • Facility management experience in high-tech or regulated environments is a strong plus
