These increasingly challenging assignments will provide foremost an effective learning assignment and then a sound intellectual and/or financial return for the PCC organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe student will apply principles that he or she has learned in school to hands‑on situations, such as equipment and facilities design and improvement.The student will be responsible for accomplishing performance goals and will receive progressive responsibility in facilities engineering throughout his/her co‑op experience.Will identify and recommend equipment improvements for specified projects.Student will attend regular departmental meetings.Student will attend training sessions, symposiums and other appropriate educational opportunities.Will perform or review procedures and documentation for existing maintenance tasks.Will take ownership and responsibility for identified projects.Participate on project teams for assigned projects; analyze improvements and new equipment or applications and develop requirements and specifications with team.Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.Participate with peers, project team members, and other departments on new equipment development, upgrades, and energy conservation opportunities.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of related engineering discipline functional and technical skillsProficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and SolidWorks.Good writing skills and interpersonal skillsRequired Skills and AttributesStrong desire to pursue a career in Operations and manufacturing leadership, with interest in leading people and managing in a production environmentDemonstrated initiative and ownership; willingness to step in, ask questions, and take responsibility for improving outcomesInterest in continuous improvement, problem solving, and making practical, hands‑on process improvementsAbility to work effectively with frontline teams, including operators, supervisors, and cross‑functional partnersAbility to analyze processes and performance data, apply root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions that improve safety, quality, delivery, and costDemonstrated technical and mechanical acumen, including comfort working directly with manufacturing equipment, processes, and materials, and the ability to understand how and why production systems operateLevel of EducationCurrently pursuing a BS Degree in Operations Management, Engineering or Business Management.
