Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Facilities Engineer role in Fort Mill, SC. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation and a commitment to operational excellence. This position reports directly to the Plant Facilities Director.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support and improve chemical handling systems and facility infrastructure.
· Identify, assess, and mitigate chemical and process-related risks.
· Gather and analyze data, blueprints, and technical reports.
· Determine facility and equipment specifications based on operational needs.
· Analyze project costs and assist in preparing and managing budgets.
· Design and oversee facility expansions, layouts, and system implementations.
· Evaluate operational systems and infrastructure to improve efficiency and reliability.
· Develop processing plans and optimize resource allocation.
· Plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules.
· Oversee and coordinate contractors performing maintenance and project work.
· Ensure compliance with regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
· Prepare reports, documentation, and compliance records.
· Review and optimize preventive maintenance programs within CMMS.
· Manage asset documentation and engineering records.
· Troubleshoot plant utility systems and recommend improvements.
· Develop technical specifications for projects and equipment.
· Assist in developing annual, 5-year, and 10-year infrastructure plans.
· Monitor current processes and recommend continuous improvements.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· 5–10 years of experience in a Facilities Engineer or similar role.
· Strong background in chemical processes and systems.
· Hands-on experience working with hazardous chemicals and chemical handling systems.
· Experience in industrial environments such as chemical manufacturing, industrial gases, solar manufacturing, or paper/pulp processing.
· Strong knowledge of building systems, construction principles, and applicable codes.
· Working knowledge of HVAC, fire suppression, and high-voltage systems.
· Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, and CMMS platforms.
· Proven project management experience from concept through completion.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
