Overview This is a non-technical role (not IT, not coding, no cloud/software skills). It's a Critical Facilities / Infrastructure Field Engineer role, someone who ensures the physical environment (power, cooling, safety) in airport IT/data centers is stable and compliant.What this person will do Keep all comm room & data center infrastructure running (power, cooling, safety).During outages/incidents, ensure uninterrupted operations (switching to generator, stabilizing cooling).Support RCA (identify why something failed and prevent repeat issues).Electrical power: UPS, PDUs, generatorsCooling systems: HVAC, CRAC units, chillersSafety systems: fire suppression, alarms, life-safety complianceFamiliarity with NFPA, OSHA, FAA standards and manufacturer maintenance guidelines.Must have skills Field/Facilities Engineering BackgroundExperience working in airports, industrial facilities, or large commercial buildings.Familiar with power systems (UPS, generators, PDUs), HVAC/CRAC units, chillers, fire-life-safety systems.Strong in inspection, monitoring, and reporting rather than designing/implementing IT solutions.Hands-On Maintenance & OperationsRunning preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.Ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, FAA standards.Qualifications Monitor, operate, and maintain critical infrastructure across airport communication rooms and data centers, including UPS, PDUs, generators, HVAC/CRAC units, chillers, and fire-life-safety systems. Conduct assessments to verify equipment performance, environmental stability, and compliance with IT and safety standards. Ensure uninterrupted operations during utility power events by managing UPS and generator backup systems. Support incident response and root cause analysis (RCA) to strengthen resiliency against future disruptionsOversee preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with NFPA, OSHA, FAA, and manufacturer standards. Maintain accurate asset documentation, inspection logs, and compliance reports for critical environments. Ensure comm rooms and data centers are maintained to industry standards, with proper cooling, cable management, and secure access protocolsSupport critical infrastructure modernization projects including UPS refresh programs, HVAC right-sizing, and facility consolidations. Coordinate with CRE and IT stakeholders to implement facility upgrades, ensuring minimal impact to operations. Provide input on lifecycle planning, energy efficiency improvements, and sustainability initiatives.Serve as the primary liaison between IT and Corporate Real Estate (CRE) for facilities management, maintenance contracts, and vendor coordination. Partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize critical locations and allocate resources effectively.
