Facilities Electrician

This Position
The Facilities Electrician position performs Journeyman level work in installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical apparatuses, equipment and systems. This position is scheduled to work on campus Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm.
Job Duties
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the employee in this position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Performs regular facility inspection on all electrical panels
Inspects building areas for electrical code compliance
Maintains, installs, and repairs electrical components such as: automatic doors, fans, lights, receptacles, motor shop equipment, heaters, and AC units
Inspects and maintains emergency systems
Inspects and repairs exterior and interior fixtures
Services motors, bearings and belts on equipment
Drives a class B or C bus as needed for school functions
Assists in moving furniture and equipment as needed
Performs other job-related duties to fulfill the overall needs of Holland Hall
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Electrical Apprenticeship Program – State License Journeyman Electrician
Five years of experience in industrial and commercial work
Expectations/Requirements for Successful Performance:
Valid driver's license and the ability to meet facility insurance requirements for school vehicle operators. Class B commercial driver's license or ability to attain one within ninety days of employment
Thorough knowledge of electrical theory
Thorough knowledge of electrical codes
Skills with hand tools, machinery and equipment
Troubleshooting
Blueprint and technical diagram reading
Good communication skills
Regular attendance is required for successful completion of job duties
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Workday regularly includes multiple or conflicting demands, deadlines and time pressures. Must be willing to work different shifts as needed
Ability to lift 50-80 pounds when necessary
Work requires considerable physical effort and manual dexterity in both hot and cold temperatures for extended periods of time
Able to work in inclement weather if necessary
Good close, distance, and color vision and depth perception
Other activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, talking, hearing and visual acuity
