Job Summary

The College of Education is seeking a Facilities Coordinator Senior to provide leadership and coordination for day-to-day facilities operations, renovation and construction projects, equipment inventory, key maintenance, and emergency planning across College of Education spaces. This position serves as a primary point of contact for facility-related needs and works closely with the Dean, college administrators, UK Facilities Management, Physical Plant Department personnel, campus security, faculty, staff, students, external contractors, and vendors to ensure College facilities are safe, functional, accessible, and well maintained.

The Facilities Coordinator Senior will manage and track facility requests, building access, work orders, space inventory, floor plans, and internal facilities procedures. This role will coordinate maintenance and repair needs, communicate building updates and announcements, assist with space planning, and help ensure appropriate work sites and workstation needs are met for College of Education faculty and staff. The position will also develop, maintain, and communicate emergency plans and protocols for physical College spaces.

In addition, this position will represent College of Education stakeholders in renovation and construction projects by helping define project scope, budgets, schedules, and communication plans. The Facilities Coordinator Senior will serve as the main College liaison with UK Facilities Management during construction and will coordinate with project managers, designers, engineers, contractors, and vendors. This position will also oversee College moves related to renovations or construction and provide regular project updates to college leadership and stakeholders.

The Facilities Coordinator Senior will be responsible for annual equipment inventory and ongoing equipment record maintenance, including updates to eBARS, equipment tagging, surplus requests, equipment transfer documentation, off-campus equipment forms, service maintenance contract review, and documentation version control. The position will also maintain the College's key inventory, order new keys, coordinate lock changes, and ensure accurate records are maintained.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a complex academic environment. Strong written and oral communication skills, accuracy, time management, operational management, problem-solving, planning, record keeping, and proficiency with systems such as Tableau, eBARS, and Excel are important for success in this role. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, self-motivation, and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
