GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB DUTIES

The Facilities Coordinator supports the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of GoTriangle facilities, properties, and transit infrastructure. This position coordinates facility maintenance activities, contractor and vendor services, preventive maintenance programs, and facility improvement projects to ensure safe, clean, and functional environments for employees and customers. The Facilities Coordinator assists with repairs, building operations, construction coordination, and maintenance of bus stops, park and rides, the Regional Transit Center, Raleigh Union Station Bus Facility, and other GoTriangle properties. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate daily facility operations, maintenance activities, and repair requests for GoTriangle buildings, park and rides, bus stops, and related properties.
  • Support the Facilities Manager with oversight of building systems, grounds, vendor services, and facility improvement projects.
  • Serve as a primary contact for facility-related issues and ensure timely communication with employees, contractors, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Coordinate and monitor contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, timely, and in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance scheduling, inspections, work orders, and documentation for buildings, equipment, and facility assets.
  • Process facility-related invoices, purchase requisitions, and maintain accurate records of services and repairs.
  • Assist with facility renovations, construction coordination, and operational continuity during active projects.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify maintenance, safety, and operational concerns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain facility safety programs, including MSDS documentation and Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
  • Maintain inventories of tools, equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and participate in on-call and adverse weather response activities as required.
  • Train staff on safe operation of tools and equipment as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a high-volume operational setting requiring strong collaboration, communication, and contractor/vendor coordination skills.
  • Minimum one (1) year of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, property operations, building operations, construction support, or related work.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, maintenance activities, or operational projects preferred.
  • Certification and working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facility maintenance practices preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Must be able to report to work during adverse weather conditions and respond to facility emergencies as needed.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with facility inspections, climbing ladders, rooftop access, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must maintain knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable facility safety standards.
  • Must maintain a valid North Carolina State Driver's License to operate company vehicles and perform required site visits, inspections, and property-related duties.

An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

Working Conditions:

Specifics of the facility environment include vehicles being moved, confined areas, roof repairs, pits, grease spill, fumes, high noise levels, toxic chemicals, and repair equipment being used. Individual will be exposed to toxic and non-toxic cleaning solutions, fuels, glues, lubricants, floor cleaning machine, large stationary bus washer, steam cleaning machines, and other normal facility equipment and tools. Physical stamina is significant: position requires sustained climbing, bending and reaching positions at uncomfortable angles. Incumbent must endure brief periods of lifting or carrying heavy objects, sometimes up at least one flight of stairs or on the roof.

Physical Requirements:

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
