PRIMARY FUNCTION:

•         Work within the organization with team members overseeing the fabrication and assembly of cranes, lifting equipment, and other heavy machinery used in the oil, gas, construction Industry. In this role, you would be responsible for coordinating the design, fabrication, testing, and commissioning of fabricated systems.

•        This includes ensuring the highest level of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction while achieving financial and operational targets.

 

 

                                                             DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

·   Project Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules for fabrication activities.
  • Allocate resources effectively (materials, labor, machinery).
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments to ensure deadlines are met.

·   Coordination with Stakeholders:

  • Communicate with clients, engineers, and other departments to understand project requirements.
  • Liaise with procurement teams to source materials and equipment.

·   Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Ensure that all fabrication processes meet quality standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and oversee testing of fabricated components.
  • Address any deviations from specifications or quality concerns.

·   Budget Management:

  • Prepare project budgets and track expenses to ensure projects remain within financial constraints.
  • Review quotes, negotiate with suppliers, and optimize costs.
  • Ensure that resources are used efficiently to avoid waste.

·   Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Resolve any operational or technical challenges that arise during fabrication.

·   Team Management:

  • Assist in supervision of fabrication teams, ensuring they have the tools, skills, and support needed.
  • Provide training or guidance on new fabrication techniques or equipment.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.

·   Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of all fabrication activities, including progress reports and documentation of materials used.
  • Generate reports for senior management and clients on project status, budget adherence, and timelines.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Fabrication Expertise: In-depth knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly techniques.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.) to plan and track project milestones.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of crane mechanics, lifting equipment, and associated structural fabrication.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve technical issues that may arise during fabrication.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate teams.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Ability to manage project costs and resources effectively.
  • Safety and Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO) and the ability to enforce them on-site.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related fields. Some positions may also require specific certifications in welding, fabrication, or field experience related to fabrication.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in the fabrication or heavy equipment industry, preferably with experience in crane services, Industrial, Marine Industry or similar fields.
  • Certifications: Certifications in project management (PMP, for example) and any industry-specific safety certifications may be beneficial.

 

 

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5 years) in a senior management role within the crane services or heavy equipment industry, with a strong track record of success in driving business growth and operational excellence.
  • In-depth knowledge of crane operations, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence teams to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Strong business acumen and financial management capabilities, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English .
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data.
  • Flexibility to travel within the Gulf region  required.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to comply with company vehicle policies.
