NW Industrial Staffing is currently seeking a Department Supervisor for a state-of-the-art facility in Eugene that specializes in custom fabrication and machining. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves to work with their hands and looking to move into a production position with room to grow.
What we are seeking:
4+ years of supervising daily operations on a production floor ensuring the safety, quality and production schedule
Previous management experience in scheduling people and resources and production times to guarantee work flow is at optimization.
Experience in prepping the shift for needed materials in advance to streamline workflows and reduce setup downtime for operators.
Familiarity with tracking labor metrics by using internal systems to drive the team toward meeting an 80% assembly efficiency goal.
Great analytical and computer skills for inputting and reviewing specialized department data and schedule routine equipment upkeep and maintenance.
Mentor and motivate a highly diverse team by leading employee training, conducting performance evaluations, and guiding new hire orientations.
Strong Collaborative communication skills to work interdepartmentally with the warehouse, support teams, engineering and production managers to resolve change orders, minimize waste, and improve quality.
Knowledge and compliance with ISO management guidelines to maintain operation adherence and prevent repetitive production errors.
Ability to keep accurate inventory counts by conducting routine audits on all parts and supplies within the department.
Capable of preparing, monitoring, and finalizing internal and external paperwork, including timecard logs.
Great problem-solving ability to Troubleshoot shop issues efficiently to minimize production flaws and handle unexpected challenges.
A safety-first attitude by participating in safety initiatives, attending the Safety Committee meetings and acting as a primary department first responder.
Great communication skills both verbally and written with engineers, managers, and office staff to report progress directly to the Production Manager.
Previous experience of operating, forklifts, grinders, and precision measuring tools, power tools and hand tools while standing on the shop floor for up to 70% of the shift.

Hours: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Pay: $25/h to start
