The tester will participate in dealer feedback meetings, validate whether the feedback represents a true system gap, defect, process issue, training need, usability concern, or enhancement, and help refine the feedback into clear, prioritized, testable items that can be fed into the team's upcoming sprint.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Participate in dealer feedback meetings and support Business in capturing dealer concerns, pain points, and enhancement requests.
Analyze dealer feedback to determine whether it is a true functional gap, defect, configuration issue, usability issue, process/training issue, or enhancement request.
Review feedback against current system functionality, business process, user stories, and expected application behavior.
Refine high-level or unclear dealer feedback into clear, actionable requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and testable scenarios.
Document expected behavior, actual behavior, business impact, severity, priority, screenshots, examples, and supporting test data where required.
Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Leads, and development teams to support backlog refinement and sprint prioritization.
Identify regression impact and create or update test scenarios/test cases for validated gaps or approved enhancements.
Support testing of accepted sprint items, including functional validation, regression testing, defect retesting, and UAT support as needed.
Ensure dealer feedback is traceable from intake through validation, prioritization, development, testing, and closure.
Communicate status, risks, blockers, and clarification needs clearly to the project team.
Experience Required:
8 10 years of software QA/testing experience.
3 5 years of experience working with business users, dealers, customers, product owners, or external stakeholders.
Strong experience in requirement analysis, test scenario creation, test case design, defect validation, and regression testing.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, user story review, and acceptance criteria validation.
Ability to distinguish between defects, functional gaps, enhancements, usability issues, configuration issues, and training/process gaps.
Strong communication, documentation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with customer-facing or dealer-facing applications is highly preferred.
Automotive, dealer portal, sales, service, warranty, parts, or aftermarket application experience would be an added advantage.
Ability to work onsite at Chicago 4 days per week is mandatory.
