POSITION: Extended School Year ESY Teacher Related Service Provider - Individual & Extended School Year ESY Teacher - School-Based Group Instruction Available
teacher positions include K-12 and Infant-Toddler (Birth - 5 years old) Position availability is contingent on student enrollment. Those interested are entered into a "pool" of providers. Providers expertise and areas of interest are then matched to the special education students area of needed instruction.

DESCRIPTION OF INDIVIDUALIZED INSTRUCTION FOR ESY SERVICES
Students for ESY are identified through the IEP process as being eligible for services. Students are also identified through the IFSP process as part of year-round services. Specific objectives are targeted for instruction to maintain the students performance level over the summer break. The range of objectives could include:

Although the amount of service for Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS) students can range from one half-hour a week to one to two hours each day, four days a week, over a period of four to seven weeks, ESY services most typically run an hour each session, once or twice a week, over five weeks. The provider has the flexibility to arrange the schedule for service provision with the parent within the specifications of the IEP. Individualized ESY services are primarily provided at a school, but on rare occasions, it could be provided in a daycare or community setting. An adult must be present at the time of service. Once a schedule is set, providers must make up sessions if they cancel, however, they are not required to make up sessions that are cancelled by the parent. If it is appropriate for the student, services may be provided virtually. It is anticipated that CCPS will need approximately 20-30 teachers. The expected number of related service providers will be dependent on individual requirements of the IEP/IFSP. Dates of service will vary depending on the requirements of the IEP/IFSP.
DESCRIPTION OF CLASSROOM-BASED INSTRUCTION OF ESY SERVICES
Classroom-based ESY services support students with complex disabilities who benefit from continued instructional routines and structures from the regular school year. Instruction typically emphasizes:
Class sizes generally include five to seven students, with one or two instructional assistants assigned based on individual student needs. The schedule is provided below.
CCPS anticipates the need for approximately 10-15 teachers to support these classrooms.

Applicants interested in School-based Group Instruction should be available for the entire duration of the ESY/CompRecovery services. These services will be held for 6 weeks. Staff dates/hours are as follows:
