The Explore to Equip Work-Based Learning WBL Coordinator manages and oversees the work-based learning implementation across the division. This position works with educational leaders community partners and business and industry leaders to support and secure work-based learning opportunities for all students in SCPS. They collaborate and engage with internal and external stakeholders to initiate partnerships and enhance student success.Essential FunctionsAssists in planning developing and implementing Work-Based Learning WBL programs to meet identified student and division needs.Conducts annual local assessments of WBL programs and outcomes to support continuous improvement efforts.Coaches division leadership and school-based Career Readiness Assistants on strategies to strengthen and expand WBL opportunities at each high school.Supports and coaches School Counselors and SCPS teachers in developing and implementing WBL opportunities for students.Provides professional learning and coaching opportunities for school counselors Career Readiness Assistants and teachers to support effective WBL implementation.Provides leadership in curriculum and resource development program of study alignment resource selection and implementation of WBL initiatives.Develops and implements a communication plan to promote WBL programs to schools families business partners and community stakeholders.Creates and presents an annual division-wide report summarizing WBL participation outcomes and program impact.Promotes WBL programs to all stakeholders including school personnel students parents and the business community while sharing relevant program information with counselors faculty and administrators.Recruits students participating in WBL programs and program graduates to serve as guest speakers for CTE classes appreciation events assemblies and CTSO meetings.Coordinates career awareness and career exploration activities for students across grade levels.Click here to read the full job description for this role.Education and ExperienceA Masters Degree from a regionally accredited college or universityFive 5 years of successful full-time teaching experience in a public or an accredited nonpublic schoolAbout Spotsylvania County Public SchoolsComprised of 31 schools and home to a diverse student population of over 24000 Spotsylvania County Public Schools is one of the largest School Divisions in the Commonwealth of Virginia.So what sets us apart Choosing SCPS means joining a highly collaborative team of professionals who inspire challenge and support one another to be their very best everyday.
