Description Benefits Description of Position An EDventures Coordinator/Instructor leads a group of students traveling to local, regional and international locations. The Coordinator/Instructor has educational travel leadership experience and is knowledgeable in the subject areas of natural history, cultures and history. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, the following:

Arts and Culture Archaeology/Anthropology Architecture Adventure and Back Country Travel Botany/Biology Geology Geography Hiking Local/Regional History Native American Cultures Natural History Photography Science and Nature

Responsibilities

  • Act as a group leader in the field to coordinate activities and travel arrangements and ensure smooth, safe travel for the participants.
  • Deliver clear, accurate and interesting information to the student and answer questions about the locations and features of the trip so that student learning is optimized.
  • Pay all on-site expenses as authorized and arranged by the program.
  • Make in-the-field decisions regarding itinerary and route changes.
  • As the driver, inspect the vehicle, obey traffic laws and drive in such a way to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Participate in marketing the trip and the EDventures program throughout the community.
  • Assist with vehicle rental tasks and food pickup as necessary.

Minimum Expectations & Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or expertise with leading educational travel.
  • Must be 21 years of age with a valid Arizona drivers license.
  • Proof of current automobile insurance.
  • Motor Vehicle Report and good driving record.
  • Completion of Yavapai College or recognized van driver training and written test.
  • Current resume.

Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • Prior experience traveling with adult learners, preferably 2-plus years.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with students and staff.
  • Ability to work with diverse learning abilities.
  • Work experience in a community college/higher education work environment.
