Experienced Shipping Associate

We are hiring an Experienced Shipping Associate in Youngstown, OH. We are looking for a dependable, safety-conscious individual to join our team. If you have shipping, forklift, or industrial experience and take pride in working safely, we want to hear from you.

Join our client, a leader in steel fabrication and counterweights, as a Shipping Associate responsible for lifting, stacking, and moving materials and pallets throughout the facility. Your role will involve inventory management, shipping, and receiving, ensuring smooth operations in a dynamic environment. Hours

1st Shift | 06:30 AM – 02:30 PM, on-site, Monday through Friday (shift start and end times based on job order)

Pay

$17.00 - $21.00/hour (Based on Experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate forklift safely
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations; keep work area clean and organized
  • Watch for traffic of co-workers and cranes moving within the shop
  • Move raw materials such as steel plates, cut parts, and other materials in and out of the shop
  • Pick, pack, band, and prepare parts for shipping
  • Manage inventory flow in and out of the facility
  • Follow all safety protocols and stay aware of surroundings when machinery and coworkers are moving

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • Strong math skills and good hand-eye coordination
  • Reliable, dependable, and eager to learn company procedures
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions from supervision

Nice to Have Skills
  • Forklift experience
  • Shipping, receiving, picking, or packing experience

Preferred Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior forklift operation experience
  • Experience working in industrial or steel environments

Other Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Capable of safely climbing in and out of forklifts
  • Able to work in varying temperatures
  • Quick response to sounds and hazards
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment
