ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate Press brake machinery.
- Select, position, and align various types of brake tooling
- Set up brake press machines from blueprints and computer-stored information.
- Read and understand work orders.
- Interpret drawings & create forming sequences with multiple tooling sets. Goal: Decrease part handling time.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in performance of all job tasks; and complete tasks on time, notifying appropriate personnel with an alternate plan, if deadlines are not achievable.
- Use bend allowance or set-back, to determine bend lines and stock leftover.
- Form simple to complex parts, to specified tolerances, including short and long runs.
- Use gauges and precision measuring instruments, to ensure accuracy of close tolerance work. Make necessary (routine) adjustments to machinery & measuring instruments, to ensure quality parts.
- Inspect work - Perform 1st piece and mid-run inspections, to maintain quality throughout job.
- Perform “1st article” inspections, clearly & accurately documenting complete dimensional results.
- Work with management and engineering/programming department on special or prototype jobs and testing tools.
- Troubleshoot problems and irregularities in a timely manner.
- Prepare and run complex bend set-ups and forming operations –
- Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake. Example: bending at angles, proper back gauge transfer between steps, delays, etc.
