Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine tests on fire alarm systems to verify their functionality, including testing battery backups, alarm signals, and communication systems
- Identify any potential fire code violations related to the fire alarm system and document them in reports.
- Maintain detailed inspection reports, including findings
- Keep informed about current fire safety codes and regulations to ensure inspections are conducted according to the latest standards.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Knowledge of fire alarm system components, operation, and testing procedures
- Understanding of local, state, and national fire safety codes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with building owners and occupants
- Ability to climb ladders and access various areas of a building for inspections
- Basic electrical knowledge may be required depending on the role
Full-Time dependent on skill set. Must be able to do repair work as well as inspections to be considered for a full time position.
Must have commercial fire alarm experience with documentation.
