Experienced Bike Mechanic / Warehouse Associate – Wichita, KS
Position
We are seeking an Experienced Bike Mechanic / Warehouse Associate to support daily bicycle service operations, warehouse responsibilities, and regional field visits. This role is ideal for someone who has strong hands-on mechanical experience, is dependable, organized, and comfortable balancing bike repair work with warehouse duties.
The right candidate must be flexible, self-motivated, and able to work independently during stand-alone visits throughout Wichita, the surrounding Great Plains region, Kansas City, Oklahoma, and nearby service areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bicycle inspections, repairs, adjustments, and routine maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Assemble, tune, and safety-check bicycles.
- Service brakes, drivetrains, wheels, tires, chains, cables, and related components.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Document completed work, parts used, and service notes as required.
- Provide professional and courteous service while representing the company in the field.
Warehouse Responsibilities
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking inventory.
- Pick, pack, load, and unload products, bikes, parts, and equipment.
- Prepare bikes, tools, and materials for service visits or deliveries.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and report shortages or damaged items.
- Help keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organized.
- Support daily operational needs as assigned.
Travel and Field Support
- Travel to assigned locations throughout Wichita, Kansas, the Great Plains region, Kansas City, Oklahoma, and surrounding areas.
- Complete stand-alone service visits that may require up to 3 days of travel.
- Work independently while maintaining communication with management.
- Transport tools, bikes, parts, and supplies as needed.
- Follow company procedures while working off-site.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a bicycle mechanic is required.
- Strong knowledge of bicycle systems, components, repair methods, and safety standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues independently.
- Comfortable using hand tools, bike-specific tools, and basic warehouse equipment.
- Ability to lift, move, and handle bikes, parts, tools, and warehouse materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
- Flexible and willing to shift between mechanical tasks, warehouse work, and field assignments.
- Must be able to travel for up to 3 days at a time when needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional bike shop, mobile repair, fleet maintenance, or warehouse experience.
- Experience working with e-bikes, cargo bikes, or commercial bike fleets.
- Inventory, shipping, receiving, or logistics experience.
- Comfortable completing service visits without direct on-site supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and work with hands for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to load and unload bikes, tools, parts, and warehouse materials.
- Ability to work in warehouse, shop, and field environments.
