The Vermont Commission on Women (VCW) seeks an energetic, skilled, and resourceful person who is dedicated to gender equity and social justice to join our tight-knit, highly collaborative team. This position serves as the communications & operations manager forVCW, and is a hub of Commission operations, supporting our mission of advancing rights and opportunities for women and girls in Vermont.
VCW is an independent non-partisan state government commission working to advance rights and opportunities for women and girls. VCW provides advice and counsel to the legislative and executive branches through research, reports, data, testimony, and other communication; conducts public education to inform people of their rights and to advance gender equity; works in partnership to take action to improve the lives of Vermonters; and provides information and referrals to the public.
This position supports the VCW mission through administrative and business management, communications management, and other special projects and duties as assigned. Types of work may include: managing all financial business operations in VISION and VTBuys systems (training provided); coordinating budget development and submission; managing office operations (supplies, technology, logistics of VCW meetings, support of VCW committees, contracts, grants, etc.); producing and distributing an electronic newsletter; writing and distributing press releases; coordinating publication and distribution of VCW materials; maintaining VCW websites (no coding required); developing and maintaining contact lists; and responding to calls, emails, and other requests for information, as well as public records requests.
