Job Summary
The Patient Services Specialist 2 provides administrative help in a physician''s office, clinic, or other area. This role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care. Duties include patient relations, check-in or check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones. May assist in training and mentoring junior Patient Services Specialists.

Essential Functions of the Role

Knowledge of patient registration procedures and documentation.
Knowledge of medical insurance claims procedures and documentation. Needs to have thorough knowledge of the Out of Network process
Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
Skilled in preparing and maintaining patient records.
Able to examine unpaid third-party claims and delinquent accounts to resolve appropriate follow-up actions to ensure payment.
Able to mentor and train staff.
Healthcare, medical office, patient registration, scheduling, or clinic experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with coordinating appointments, referrals, and care across multiple providers is highly valued.
Coordinate complex multi-specialty appointments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience navigating electronic medical records or similar systems preferred.
Understanding of patient privacy and professionalism in a healthcare setting preferred.
Adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Successfully manage check-in, check-out, phones, scheduling, and patient communications simultaneously.
Balance administrative responsibilities while ensuring each patient receives personalized attention.
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to pivot between tasks seamlessly.
Create a welcoming environment through exceptional communication and service excellence.
Build trusted relationships with patients while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Serve as a patient advocate and resource throughout the care journey.
