Here’s a little about the University of Pittsburgh:
The University of Pittsburgh is one of the nation’s leading public research universities and a proud member of the Association of American Universities (AAU). Located in Pittsburgh’s vibrant Oakland neighborhood, Pitt is nationally recognized for academic excellence, groundbreaking research, and its commitment to student success and well-being.
Within the Division of Student Affairs, the University has made a deep institutional commitment to holistic student wellness — recognizing the important connection between mental health, belonging, resilience, learning, and long-term student success. The University Counseling Center (UCC) plays a central role in this mission through collaborative partnerships across Student Affairs, Student Health Services, campus safety, academic units, and community providers.

About this role:
The University of Pittsburgh seeks a collaborative, emotionally intelligent, and clinically grounded leader to serve as the next Executive Director of the University Counseling Center (UCC). Reporting to the Executive Associate Dean and Chief Wellness Officer, this leader will guide one of the University’s most important student support resources during a period of significant opportunity and evolution within collegiate mental health.
The Executive Director will lead a highly skilled and deeply committed multidisciplinary team responsible for counseling services, crisis intervention, outreach, prevention programming, consultation, embedded clinical services, and training programs. This role is equally operational, strategic, and relational — balancing high-quality student-centered care with sustainable clinical operations, organizational culture, and staff well-being.
