Executive Director

Aviva Senior Living  •  Port St. Lucie, FL  •  Onsite

Why This Role Exists

Aviva Senior Living opened a brand new, 160-unit independent living community in Port St. Lucie two years ago. The building is state of the art, the location is right, and the residents who call it home deserve the best. What we need now is the person who takes true ownership of it.

This is not a role where you show up to manage a process. This is a role where you walk in, look at every corner of the operation, and decide what it takes to make this community the premier 55-plus destination in the PSL area. You will be accountable to results, you will have the autonomy to drive them, and you will be compensated accordingly.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will have full authority across sales, culinary, maintenance, and the entire resident experience. Think of yourself as the CEO of this building.

What You Will Own

Census and occupancy growth. You will set the direction, hold your sales team to it, and stay personally connected to referral relationships in the market. Move-ins happen because of the culture you build and the trust you earn.

A team that performs and stays. You will recruit, develop, and retain department directors and frontline staff alike. When someone is not performing, you address it. When someone has potential, you grow it.

Financial results you can defend. You will manage budgets, control labor, and make smart decisions on capital expenditures. You will know your numbers and you will know what is driving them.

Resident and family trust. You will be visible, accessible, and present. Families will know your name. Residents will feel it when you walk through the door.

A compliant, well-run operation. You will keep the community in step with all state regulations, industry standards, and Aviva operating expectations.

What You Bring

Here is what the best candidates for this role come in with and get to put to real use:

  • Leadership that moves people. You know how to align a team around a goal, give honest feedback, and coach someone through a hard moment. You have done it before in senior living or a comparably complex hospitality-driven environment.
  • Sales instincts that translate to occupancy. You are not just overseeing a sales function, you are part of it. You understand referral development, you can build relationships in the local healthcare community, and you know how to close.
  • Business fluency. You have managed a P and L. You know what census does to NOI. You have made decisions under budget pressure and you have been accountable to the outcomes.
  • Genuine care for residents and families. This is a 55-plus independent living community. The residents here are active, engaged, and discerning. You will lead with warmth, not just process.
  • Communication that earns trust. You can run a family meeting, present to leadership, coach a direct report, and handle a difficult conversation, all in the same day.

What Working at Aviva Is Actually Like

Aviva promotes autonomy. We are not a company that sends you a playbook and watches you execute it. We hire people who are proactive, goal-oriented, and hungry to make something great, and then we get out of their way.

Compensation here is tied to performance. If you drive results, you will see it in your paycheck. The base salary is strong, the bonus program is real, and there is room to grow within an organization that spans thirteen states.

This is not a desk role. The best Executive Directors at Aviva are known by name in their communities. They are on the floor, in the dining room, shaking hands with a new resident's daughter/son. If you thrive behind closed doors, this is probably not your role. If you thrive when you are the face of something, keep reading.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary
  • Performance bonus tied to community outcomes including census, NOI, and resident satisfaction
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous paid time off
