Our client is seeking an Executive Director of Healthcare Finance, a strategic and mission‑aligned finance leader responsible for guiding financial strategy, operational performance, and long‑term sustainability for a growing pediatric specialty healthcare organization. Serving as the CFO's key partner and the #2 finance leader, this role provides executive‑level financial insight, leads core financial functions, and supports clinical and operational leaders in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.


The Executive Director oversees finance and revenue cycle leadership roles and plays a critical part in shaping financial strategy, optimizing reimbursement, and strengthening organizational performance.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Lead financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning to support growth and innovation.
  • Partner with the CFO and executive team to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational priorities.

Revenue Cycle & Reimbursement Strategy

  • Provide strategic oversight of revenue cycle operations and reimbursement strategy.
  • Drive data‑informed improvements to maximize revenue integrity and financial performance.
  • Support initiatives related to payor negotiations, denials management, and cash flow optimization.

Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting

  • Lead annual operating and capital budgeting processes.
  • Develop multi‑year forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial performance dashboards.
  • Analyze trends, risks, and opportunities; recommend solutions that support organizational goals.

Operational Partnership & Compliance

  • Support external audits, cost reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, audit requirements, and financial reporting standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to improve financial performance and resource utilization.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing finance and revenue cycle teams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to cross‑functional leadership initiatives and organizational planning.

Process Improvement & Financial Stewardship

  • Enhance financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
  • Promote transparency, efficiency, and accuracy across financial operations.
  • Ensure responsible stewardship of resources in alignment with mission‑driven care.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • MBA, MHA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Mission‑aligned, service‑oriented leadership mindset.
  • Proven leadership and team development experience.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed, data‑driven decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Strong background in hospital or health system financial operations.
  • Exceptional communication and executive‑level presentation abilities.
  • Ability to build strong communication channels across the organization.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and audit environments.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement, and revenue cycle operations.
