The Executive Director for Student Integrated Counseling and Health Services provides visionary, strategic, and operational leadership for Old Dominion University's comprehensive, integrated student health enterprise, encompassing medical healthcare and behavioral health. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Well-Being & Belonging, the Executive Director is responsible for advancing a student-centered, collaborative model of care that promotes well-being, belonging, retention, academic success, and persistence to graduation.
As the inaugural Executive Director, this role is charged with designing, leading, and sustaining a deeply integrated clinical and administrative structure that elevates both behavioral health and physical health as equally vital, interdependent components of student success. The Executive Director oversees all aspects of healthcare delivery and administration while fostering a culture of innovation, equity, collaboration, and continuous improvement; responsibilities include clinical operations, healthcare compliance, electronic medical records (EMR) systems, budget and revenue management, facilities, information technology, risk management, assessment, and accreditation through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) or comparable bodies. This role also serves as a key institutional leader and advisor on student health, well-being, public health, crisis response, and emergency preparedness. The Executive Director collaborates extensively with campus partners, healthcare systems, and community providers to ensure continuity of care and the delivery of high-quality, student-centered services.
Given the nature of the positions in the Division of Student and Campus Life that provide support to student services and/or student-centered programs, the employee occupying this position may be required to work during a university closing.
