Executive Director - Broken Arrow Neighbors

Position Overview:

Broken Arrow Neighbors (BAN) is a comprehensivecommunity resourcecenter inthe heart of theRose District that provides emergency food and financialassistancein the Broken Arrow and Coweta areas.The Executive Director will advance theposition ofBAN and provide comprehensive oversight to daily operationsincluding programmatic, financial, staff management, andfundraising.

Salary: $85,000 - $95,000,CommensuratewithExperience

Location:Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

STRATEGIC DIRECTION

  • Collaborate with the Board to refine and implement strategicplanand recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve strategic goals.

  • Ensure that Board communications and interactions aretimely,accurate, and transparent.

  • Maintain current knowledge on emerging trends and developments that can affect theagency and itsmission, vision, and values.

  • Possess a forward-thinking mindsetandabilityto conceptualize innovative strategies and solutions that drive organizational growth and success.

LEADERSHIP

  • Lead thestaffinadoption ofthe strategicdirectionsapproved by the Board of Directorsto ensure the agencymeetsthe goalsandobjectivesarticulatedin the plan.

  • Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards staff members, fostering a supportive and positive work environment.

  • Motivate staff to achieve organizational goals by developing and implementing strategies thatencouragea high-performing work culture.

  • Encouragean open and collaborative work environment by building strong relationships with the teamthrough transparentcommunication.

  • Create an empoweringwork environment where team members are encouraged to take ownership, make decisions, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

MANAGEMENT AND OVERSIGHT

  • Demonstrate financial acumen andtheability to analyze and manage financial data.

  • Development and oversight of the budget and financial statement preparation.

  • Manage operations within board approved budget, and providetimely,accurate,and transparent financial reports totheboardand funders.

  • Maintain records and prepare forsubmission of Form 990 and theannual and bi-annual audits.

DEVELOPMENT& MARKETING

  • Possess a proven record instewardship anddevelopment.

  • Cultivatestrongcommunity partnershipsandbuildconnections withcurrent and potential donors.

  • Create and executeanannual fundraising plan includingobjectivesand strategies for givingfromindividuals, corporations, foundations, publicsources,and grants.

  • Maintainaccuratereports related to agency fundraisingin the CRM.

  • Research and write grants as part of the annual fundraising plan.

  • Serve aspublicspokesperson for the agency, including making presentations,speechesandmedia appearances.

  • Plan and executive PR and communications initiatives including social media and website strategy.

PROGRAMMING

  • Overseethe ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness, collecting and analyzing data to inform program improvement and expansion.

  • Develop andimplementinnovativeprograms and services aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals, ensuring maximum impact and community benefit.

HUMAN RESOURCES RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead planning and oversight related to employee benefit programs.

  • Secure andmaintaincompliance and accountability with Board-ratified policies addressed in the Employee Handbook and/or discern or seekappropriate counselregardingmatters that are notdirectly specifiedin the Handbook.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality with records and other information that may be assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience, with a minimum of 2 years at an executive leadership leveland development experience.

  • Executive/managerial experience in food security organizations is preferred but notrequired.

  • Corporate executive experience is preferred but notrequired.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build andmaintainrelationships withstaff, Board members, volunteers, community leaders, donors, and partner agencies.

  • Ability to interact,present,and influence the donor community to strengthen and support development efforts.

  • Demonstrated, highly-effective leadership skills - create vision, define strategy, drive growth, manage risk, ability to influence, managerial courage,demonstratepassion for the mission.

  • Innovator with proven ability to be open, creative and lead through change.

  • Sound judgement,problem-solvingand decision-making skills; criticalthinkerwho can grasp and discern information across a broad array of topics.

  • High ethics and integrity.

  • Effective communication skillsand ability toeffectively use various communication channels, including social media.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends for scheduled meetings and events.

  • Able tolift upto 25 pounds.

  • Proof of meeting Oklahoma Stateautolicensurerequirementswith avalid driver’s license.
