Executive Assistant


Waste Connections is seeking an Executive Assistant to support our Corporate Accounting organization in The Woodlands, TX. This role combines event planning, office operations, and finance coordination, requiring a highly organized, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.


The ideal candidate brings strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a high level of professionalism while supporting both people and process-driven work.


Responsibilities include:


+ Plan and coordinate corporate meetings and events ranging from small team gatherings to large conferences (50–275 attendees), including logistics, vendor management, travel, and on-site support (limited travel required)

+ Manage Outlook calendars, event communications, travel arrangements, and serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders

+ Prepare Expense Reports and reconciling Credit Card transactions along with vendor communications

+ Assisting with census and regulatory reporting

+ Updating SharePoint pages, internal calendars, and training content

+ Support departments with shipping, check distribution, and banking materials

+ Oversee shared office spaces and coordinate supplies, snacks, and vendor meetings

+ Plan team engagement activities including quarterly outings, internal events, and office celebrations


Ideal Candidate Experience


+ 2+ years in event coordination, office management, or administrative support

+ Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills

+ Advanced communication skills with the ability to work across all levels

+ Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint a plus, and internal systems (Workday a plus)

+ Detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and reporting work

+ Positive, energetic, and team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support events
