Job Title: Special Education Process Coordinator Job Title Code: 01549 Salary Grade: T03-C-T06 Department: Exceptional Education Reports To: Director of Exceptional Education FLSA Status: Exempt

PURPOSE OF JOB

Facilitate the provision of effective specialized instruction and full compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

What Youll Be Doing

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with principals in the supervision of special education staff and implementation of special education at individual school sites. • Provide special education teachers and related service providers direct consultation and coaching regarding effective specialized instruction practices. • Facilitate collection of data and assist in data analysis for the purpose of program evaluation and planning. • Assist in planning and providing high quality professional development for special education staff. • Serve as Local Education Agency representative as needed in Individual Education Program (IEP) and other decision-making meetings regarding special education for individual students. • Monitor and promote compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations, the Missouri Plan for Special Education, and the Local Compliance Plan. • Collaborate with colleagues outside of special education to ensure seamless support for students with disabilities and clear communication between staff members. • Use technology effectively to manage documentation requirements. • Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills. • Comply with all district rules, regulations, and policies. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.

To Be Successful at This Job

Youll Need To Qualify

• Masters Degree • Missouri certification in Special Education • Documented knowledge of Special Education process • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptable

Length of work year: 202 days calendar, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week
