Job Description
Summary
The Exam Office Assistant prepares testing materials for students registered with the Disability Center. The Exam Office Assistant also performs clerical duties in the Disability Center office.
Essential Functions
- Greet customers in a friendly, timely, and professional manner. Assist with various inquiries as appropriate, either by answering questions utilizing your own knowledge and in accordance with established departmental procedures or by directing to the appropriate staff member.
- Perform receptionist duties. Answer the desk phone, organize, and sort mail. Ensure the office is presentable by performing light cleaning duties. Analyze situations and confidently respond in a manner consistent with training.
- Assist in the preparation for and administration of accommodated exams. Effectively communicate with students, staff and faculty to ensure proper administration of exams.
- Serve as a proctor or exam dispatcher as necessary.

- Maintain academic integrity.
- Present a positive, professional image to the campus community on behalf of the Disability Center.
- As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities is expected in order to serve the customer and maintain the Student Affairs mission.
Anticipated Hiring Range
$16.25 per hour, paid on a bi-weekly basis
Shift
Average number of hours per week: 16
You must be available to work the following shift:
- 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday
This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for a student title, an individual must be enrolled at the University of Missouri. Enrollment in the summer session is not required if the student was enrolled in the Spring semester and is pre-enrolled for the Fall semester. Selection is contingent upon results of a review with the Office of Institutional Equity, Office of Student Accountability & Support, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, previous MU appointment history, and reference checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as an Exam Proctor and/or Dispatcher
- Good organizational skills
- Punctuality
