Salary: $19.50 - $33.00 Hourly
Definition: Provides exceptional customer service and support to the general public, co-workers, vendors, and individuals/groups who use Bank Run's reservable areas/facilities before, during, and after their event.
Example of Duties:
- Provides exceptional customer services to members of the public.
- Assists visitors by greeting, welcoming, providing information, answering questions, being attentive to their needs, and directing them appropriately.
- Assists the Bank Run Park Manager in coordinating special events for Bank Run Metro Park.
- Meets with event sponsors and coordinators seeking information regarding Bank Run as a possible event venue; answers questions and develops plans for events.
- Coordinates with staff for planned events. Sets up/tears down facility, including moving tables, chairs, podium, etc., including outside areas.
- Creates signage and logistical plans for events.
- Coordinates volunteers for special events and other opportunities at Bank Run Metro Park, including training, answering inquiries, assigning work, and evaluating needs.
- Sets up/tears down facilities and grounds for events, including moving tables, chairs, podium, trash cans, recycling, etc.
- Compiles statistics, analyzes data, and compiles reports related to special events and Bank Run activities.
- Evaluates events for success, areas of needed improvement, or to determine the viability of scheduling the group again in the future.
- Coordinates or performs a variety of janitorial duties, including emptying trash cans/replacing liners, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, window washing, cleaning tables & chairs, deep cleaning restrooms, thoroughly cleaning kitchens, performing consistent upkeep, etc.
- Welcomes visitors, provides information and assistance to park visitors, and responds to visitor questions. While assisting visitors, assesses visitors needs, provides basic direction, options, or solutions if a situation presents. If situations require a response above basic direction, elevates situation to appropriate personnel.
- Speaks with visitors, informs visitors about park rules and regulations, ways to become involved with Metro Parks, and provides direction to shelters, picnic areas, various park facilities. Answers general questions about directions, wildlife, vegetation, and park amenities.
- Responds to customer inquiries; tactfully solves problems and resolves customer complaints. Informs users of rules and, when necessary, enforces rules and regulations.
- Performs a variety of custodial duties, including emptying trash cans/replacing liners, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, window washing, cleaning tables & chairs, deep cleaning restrooms, thoroughly cleaning kitchens, performing consistent upkeep, etc.
- Performs light maintenance duties as required during the course of a scheduled event. Provides administrative support for Bank Run Metro Parks, assisting the Park Manager in various administrative duties such as credit card receipts/statements, inputting information into RecTrac, Volgistics, and other used computer programs.
- May serve as a point-of-contact person relative to special event needs and plans.
- May be assigned to conduct public programs and/or assist other parks and camps with special events/programs. May provide direction to volunteers and seasonal Staff.
- Performs special projects and related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Additional education or experience in customer service, event planning, environmental science/natural resources/conservation or related field preferred.
- Experience working with the public in a park-like setting, preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, professionally and courteously with visitors and members of the public, vendors, facility users, co-workers, supervisors, and staff.
