Event Security Officer - Greater Richmond Area

Job Title: Event Security Guard

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00  per hour
Work Location: In-person (Greater Richmond Area – Bay Area)

Position Overview

Diligence Security Group is hiring Event Security Guards in Richmond, CA to support large-scale events in the Greater Bay Area. This role is perfect for individuals who are professional, attentive, and dedicated to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. Guards must be able to commute to Richmond or surrounding event locations; transportation may be coordinated based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous military, law enforcement, or event security experience is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

• Valid California BSIS Guard Card (required).
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (preferred).
• Strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
• Clear and professional verbal/written communication.
• Fluent in English (additional languages a plus).
• Alert, observant, and able to assess situations quickly.
• Professional demeanor and uniform compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist event attendees with professionalism.
• Conduct bag checks, ID verification, and ticket scanning.
• Monitor crowd activity and direct foot traffic.
• De-escalate incidents and maintain order.
• Alert supervisors to any suspicious or disruptive behavior.
• Secure entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized access.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and hazards.
• Enforce event policies and ensure compliance.
• Complete incident reports as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
• Ability to move quickly and navigate through crowds.
• Ability to bend, crouch, or lift items up to 100 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
