Work Schedule: 261 Days (Evening Shift) Monday - Friday; 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM or Tuesday - Saturday; 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Evaluation: After 90-days, annually thereafter Summary: The Evening Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing evening custodial operations across the district, with a primary focus on Penn High School. This position ensures that custodial teams maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency while upholding district policies and procedures. The role involves supervision, training, scheduling, and inspection of custodial work to support a clean and well-maintained learning environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: District-Wide Responsibilities: Supervise and support evening custodial teams across all district buildings. Implement and uphold district-wide cleaning standards and protocols. Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. Coordinate custodial staff assignments, scheduling, and task distribution. Provide training and professional development for custodial staff, including new hires and substitutes. Address custodial performance concerns, collaborate with building administrators, and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure proper use and maintenance of custodial equipment and supplies. Assist in developing and managing custodial budgets, supply orders, and inventory. Maintain OSHA compliance, oversee MSDS documentation, and conduct safety training. Penn High School Responsibilities: Directly manage the evening custodial team at Penn High School, ensuring the facility meets district cleanliness and safety standards. Act as the primary point of contact for custodial concerns at PHS, collaborating with administrators and staff to resolve issues. Monitor custodial performance and address deficiencies through coaching, training, or reassignment. Conduct regular walkthroughs and inspections of PHS to ensure proper cleaning procedures are followed. Respond to emergency custodial needs or after-hours incidents as required. Supervision and Leadership: Supervise and direct custodial staff, ensuring adherence to cleaning protocols and efficient work performance. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff. Investigate and address work-related complaints, preparing reports as necessary. Assist in maintaining effective communication between custodial teams, administrators, custodial management, and facilities management. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Required: Understanding of custodial operations, cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Knowledge of carpet care, floor maintenance, and sanitation procedures. Familiarity with OSHA regulations, health and safety standards, and MSDS documentation. Strong organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills. Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate custodial staff effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, administrators, and stakeholders. Qualification Requirements: Minimum of three to five years of supervisory experience in custodial or facility management. Proficiency with computer skills, including scheduling and custodial/facility management software. The ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism. Must pass all required background checks and remain free of alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace. Physical & Environmental Requirements: Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
