Position Summary:
Lawrence Public Schools is looking for exceptional and dedicated Educational Team Facilitator (ETF) to join our team. Vacancies are available throughout the district.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, schedule, and chair special education team meetings.
- Write, process, and finalize Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain communication with families and staff to ensure that student needs are being met.
- Ensure accurate and complete student records in accordance with legal, district, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor timelines for evaluations, reevaluations, and annual reviews to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with educators, service providers, and administrators to support student success.
- Maintain professional competence through participation in training and staff development.
- Support compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.
- Assist school staff in understanding and implementing IEPs effectively.
- Participate in school-based problem-solving or support teams as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the school Principal or Special Education Zone Director.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of the special education evaluation process and associated regulations.
- Ability to interpret assessment data and translate it into actionable IEP goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple timelines and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
- Proficiency in using electronic IEP and student data systems.
- Capacity to build collaborative relationships with families and educators.
- Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Massachusetts certification in Special Education required
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant classroom or field experience, five (5) years preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of special education law, team evaluation procedures, and IEP development.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Strong understanding of compliance and documentation standards.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
