Temporary summer position as a Self-Contained Special Education Paraeducator working with students in the Extended School Year program. Tasks include delivering instruction in reading, writing, math, computers, and vocational skills, either individually or in small groups, and recording student progress.
Requirements include a High School Diploma, prior experience preferred, CPR/First Aid, behavior management skills, a valid Alaska driver’s license, and either an AA degree, 48 semester hours, or passing the WorkKeys Exam.
Knowledge needed covers record-keeping, computer skills, student behavior, and behavior modification techniques.
Abilities include maintaining confidentiality, providing instructional support, effective communication, and cultural sensitivity.
Compensation is $26.60/hour for less than 15 hours weekly from May 29–June 18, 2026, with fingerprinting at applicant’s expense.
