Job Description

The role involves collecting historical cost data to estimate costs for current and future projects. Responsibilities include consulting with clients, vendors, and construction teams to formulate estimates, reading blueprints to prepare estimates, consulting with engineers and architects on cost adjustments, assessing cost effectiveness, setting up cost monitoring systems, and maintaining a directory of suppliers and contractors. The role also requires reviewing material and labor requirements, preparing cost statements, and visiting sites to record site information.

The Successful Applicant

A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or project management is preferred. The candidate should have 7+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction or with trades, experience in preparing bids, and hands-on experience estimating projects based on blueprints. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, along with ground-up commercial experience.
