ABOUT THE ROLE MYR Group and its subsidiaries have current openings for experienced Electrical Construction Estimators. Estimators ensure competitiveness, profitability, and growth for the company while maintaining and growing relationships with internal and external customers and clients. Estimators are primarily responsible for preparing cost estimates for various electrical construction projects, by collecting and studying cost information, evaluating bid specifications and drawings, and ensuring a successful bid. Boulos Company, Harlan Electric Company, Great Southwestern Construction, Huen Electric, CSI Electrical Contractors, Western Pacific Enterprises Essential Functions Dependent upon level of position responsibilities may include: Complete cost estimates for assigned projects, with definable work tasks for electrical construction projects Develop estimates with minor errors/omissions Utilize previous work/bidding history to establish production assumptions Track and compare project histories to produce up to date man hours and cost Plan and execute work while meeting customer defined submission deadlines Schedule and attend field job walk with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirements Attend on-site pre-bid meetings and perform job site visits Field job walks and pre-bid meeting may require travel/overnight stays Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors Perform accurate material takeoffs to supply to vendor for pricing Solicit material vendor pricing and subcontractor proposals including assembly and distribution of project documentation into RFQ/RFP packages Prepare commercial aspects of proposals, including work plans, clarifications/exceptions, etc. Create/utilize construction schedule Lead estimate review process with internal and external stake holders Participate in job close-out meetings at the end of a project to close any loops in the estimating process Dependent upon experience, may lead the estimating team and manage bidding activities Dependent upon experience, may support other estimators with bidding activities and training Regular and predictable attendance Other duties as assigned Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards ABOUT YOU Qualifications Dependent upon the position we require a minimum of 2-8 years of experience in electrical construction estimating Some positions may require experience estimating in transmission, distribution, or substation projects Some positions may require experience estimating in commercial or industrial projects Preferred Education for all levels: High school diploma or GED or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledgeable of the N.E.C and local codes Able to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications to include blueprints, proposals and other relevant documents Knowledgeable of electrical materials and methods of installation Proficient with Mic osoft Office applications and estimating software Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills Team player mentality Self-driven with the ability to stay on-task for extended periods of time while working independently WHAT WE OFFER Compensation & Benefits Salary $75,000 - $142,000 / year Commensurate with experience, paid weekly.
