Job Details

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to support our preconstruction and project teams from initial opportunity through final proposal. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, developing subcontractor coverage and helping position the company to win technically complex commercial projects.

Job Description:
  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development and detailed construction estimates
  • Review drawings, specifications and other bid documents to determine project scope and requirements
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing
  • Solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors while maintaining strong market coverage
  • Review and level subcontractor proposals to identify scope gaps, exclusions and pricing discrepancies
  • Develop detailed bid packages, scope sheets and estimate summaries
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, architects and clients during the preconstruction process
  • Attend pre bid meetings, site walks and project turnover meetings
  • Assist with value engineering, constructability reviews and cost saving recommendations
  • Track current market pricing, material lead times and subcontractor availability
  • Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information and subcontractor relationships
  • Prepare final proposals, clarifications, qualifications and bid submissions
  • Support project handoff from estimating to operations following award

Qualifications:
  • 3 or more years of commercial construction estimating experience
  • Experience with a general contractor is strongly preferred
  • Background estimating commercial tenant improvements, laboratories, life science, higher education or advanced technology projects
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work and building systems
  • Ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop complete project estimates
  • Experience soliciting, reviewing and leveling subcontractor bids
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, Sage Estimating or similar platforms is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or a related field is preferred but not required
