About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimator & Bid Controller to support the preparation of competitive bids and cost estimates for commercial HVAC, MEP, maintenance, and construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate pricing, timely bid submissions, and successful project awards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals.
Review project drawings, specifications, RFQs, and bid documents.
Solicit and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Coordinate with project managers and engineering teams during the bidding process.
Analyze project costs, labor, equipment, and material pricing.
Maintain bid schedules and ensure timely submission of proposals.
Identify project risks, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.
Maintain historical cost databases and estimating records.
Assist in contract reviews and project handover after award.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (preferred).
3–5+ years of estimating or bid coordination experience in construction, HVAC, or MEP projects.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and procurement processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, or similar).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with commercial HVAC, electrical, or mechanical construction projects.
Knowledge of bid management, vendor negotiations, and contract documentation.
Spanish language skills are a plus.
Experience working with MEP contractors or facility management companies.
