This position is for the 26/27 school year. The salary listed is based on a 1.0 FTE using the 25/26 school year rates.
This position is a 0.5 FTE Esthetics Program Instructor, working 3.75 hours/day with 183 base contract days (180 student days + 3 Professional Development days) and 2 supplemental days.

The West Sound Technical Skills Center Esthetics Instructor is responsible for providing competency-based career entry instruction for 11th and 12th grade high school students enrolled in the Skills Center Esthetics program.
Reports to and evaluated by: WSTSC Director or Designee
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide individualized and group instruction in the Cosmetology and Esthetics industry at the Skills Center.
- Emphasis is on teaching Esthetics industry standards and preparing students for state certification, licensure, and employability in the Esthetics industry.
- Teacher must be able to work with high school students and College students with diverse range of interest and abilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Skills Center administration, staff, the business community, advisory committees, professional associations, and postsecondary institutions to provide integrated, relevant academic, employability and learning competencies.
- Utilize and maintain approved WSTSC Cosmetology and Esthetics program and core curricular student learning competencies.
- Organize instructional program to provide for individual differences.
- Develop and implement effective leadership opportunities for all students.
- Integrate and utilize, to the extent of resources available, current industry technology including computers and software throughout curriculum and teaching strategies.
- Prepare and maintain long-range and weekly lesson plans.
- Maintain appropriate and required student records.
- Work as an effective member of the Skills Center staff to evaluate, market, and improve the assigned program.
- Communicate and interpret the Skills Center program to patrons and stakeholders.
- Communicate student assessment goals and progress to students, parents, and students' sending school on a regular basis.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by Skills Center administration.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a current Washington State Esthetics Instructor License. May also hold a current Washington State Cosmetology Instructor License.
- Qualifies for a valid Washington State CTE teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement as required by law and regulations.
