POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to partner with parents and teachers to encourage and provide godly, consistent support for students toward the established mission and core values; primarily, to assist each learner toward knowing Christ as Savior and achieving their God-given potential.
HIGHLIGHTS
This position is full-time for the 2026-2027 school year.
This role will be 50% teaching and 50% serving in intervention.
EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the School’s Foundational Statements and mission through word and deed.
Integrate Biblical principles and Scripture into daily activities.
Minister to students through prayer, encouragement, and wise counsel.
Follow safety protocols for where students can be and how to secure the building.
Be timely in reporting to work and when at work.
Carry out the procedures and protocols in the employee handbook and respect decisions made by leadership.
Maintain open communication with leadership regarding questions, concerns, and needs.
As a representative of the school, all written and verbal interactions with parents/guardians, co-workers, and the community must be professional and reflect the school positively. This includes one’s appearance, the content of the communication, and presentation of it.
Professionally represents the school in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students.
Remain professional in attire and behavior.
Maintain confidentiality of all matters pertaining to students, employees, and donors as outlined in NPC’s Confidentiality Agreement.
Submit time off requests in a timely manner and in accordance with school policy.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Plan and provide differentiated, remedial instruction to individuals and small groups of students; support in the push-in setting.
Assist with the implementation of testing accommodations such as making sure students receive study guides, accommodating tests, providing reader and scribe services; this could include assistance with standardized tests such as the SAT.
Plan parent meetings upon request and manage paperwork for specific caseload.
Meet with teachers to develop alternate activities in line with established accommodations.
Assist with special education record-keeping and filing; assist with year end reporting procedures.
Participate in weekly team meetings to be scheduled.
Attend at least one professional training activity per semester.
Practice effective classroom management practices which reflect a respect and understanding of the students’ particular strengths and challenges.
Communicate positively and timely with team members, students, and parents.. Be committed to respond to all parent communication requests within twenty-four hours during the school week.
Collaborating with classroom and educational support service teachers to meet the needs of students who have qualified for intervention support.
Oversee quality tier two assessment planning, progress monitoring, and instruction for students who have qualified for invention.
Researching and staying relevant with new data and new educational programs relating to intervention.
Gathering assessment data and using it to determine student support.
Administering reading assessments to individuals and classrooms.
Communicate regularly with the middle school principal and ESS director.
Other duties as assigned by Administration and ESS Director/Coordinator.
Encircle the needs of the Student Union teaching team, their families, and students in prayer and celebrate the victories.
Cooperate toward the direction established in the philosophy and practice.
Display a willingness to learn and share insights, tips, and strategies learned along the way.
Respect the confidential nature of the resource teacher’s role with a sensitive managing of information.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Active Christian in agreement with and willing to sign the NorthPointe Christian School’s Foundational statements.
Able to pass required background checks and fingerprint screening.
