Purpose Statement

The job of Administrator - EdJobsNW is done for the purpose of managing the day-to-day activities and personnel of EdJobsNW while promoting and coordinating EdJobsNW expansion efforts across the state of Washington.

Essential Functions

  • Analyzes data from a wide variety of sources for the purpose of assessing effectiveness of services, providing information, and improving member districts' overall experience.
  • Develops a variety of partnerships for the purpose of maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Directs the implementation of services through a combination of delegation and personal involvement for the purpose of ensuring services are provided within established timeframes in compliance with all related requirements.
  • Expands relationships with key partners (e.g. member districts, universities, schools, etc.) for the purpose of problem solving and building collaboration.
  • Facilitates a variety of meetings (e.g. stakeholder meetings, training, informational sessions, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information required to perform job functions.
  • Identifies opportunities to market EdJobsNW for the purpose of promoting expansion efforts across the state.
  • Interacts with member districts and service providers for the purpose of enhancing relationships and ensuring negotiated services are appropriate and cost effective.
  • Monitors services for the purpose of ensuring stated outcomes are achieved and services are efficiently provided within budgetary guidelines.
  • Performs personnel administrative functions for assigned staff (e.g. hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining necessary staffing, enhancing productivity, and ensuring necessary outcomes are achieved.
  • Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. reports, analyses, recommendations, etc.) for the purpose of providing written reference, conveying information, and supporting presentations concerning the services of EdJobsNW.
  • Represents EdJobsNW at recruiting events for the purpose of promoting the districts served by ESD 113.
  • Researches a variety of topics (e.g. technology, strategies, hiring practices, etc.) for the purpose of keeping abreast of current trends, technology, and tools.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources for the purpose of solving problems, providing information, facilitating communication among parties, and providing direction.
  • Supervises budget allocation and expenditures for the purpose of ensuring stability of EdJobsNW.
  • Travels, as needed, (e.g. district meetings and trainings, recruitment events, etc.) for the purpose of performing the essential functions of the position.

Other Functions

  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of work activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge

Knowledge is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: recruitment strategies; project management methodology; technology tools that support the recruitment and substitute services functions; and social media.

Skills

Skills are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: using interpersonal skills; exhibiting oral and written communication; operating standard office equipment; preparing and maintaining accurate records; planning and managing projects; comfort utilizing new and existing software; and problem-solving.

Ability

Ability is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate.

Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives; managing a department; supervising the use of funds. Utilization of resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization's services.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 70% sitting, 10% walking, and 20% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Education and Experience

Education (Required): High School diploma or equivalent.

Equivalency: BA degree preferred, though may be waived in lieu of any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position.

Experience: Job-related experience within a specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required. At least 2 years of successfully supervising a team is preferred.

Preferred Experience: Marketing and/or HR experience preferred.
