Overview:

The Escrow Assistant I must believe in, practice and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.

 

An Escrow Assistant I is an administrative professional who supports Escrow Officers in managing and closing real estate transactions. EAs handle various administrative tasks related to these transactions, including facilitating the initial stages of the escrow process, answering phone calls and questions, and updating records as required. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. 

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Escrow Officers as required
  • Prepare preliminary CDs for lenders
  • Submit title commitments, tax certs, HOA documents, CPLs, preliminary CDs, and other required documentation to the lender
  • Submit wire instructions, title commitments, tax certs, and HOA documents to buyers and realtors
  • Scan, upload, and organize documents in compliance with company and Texas Department of Insurance (“TDI”) regulations
  • Verify accuracy of basic information such as names, addresses, and property details
  • Provide status updates to clients and agents as required
  • Ensure tax statement is current and, in the file
  • Receive and review HOA materials
  • Review Schedule B&C items and identify issues requiring Escrow Officer attention
  • Review survey and send copy to underwriter for approval
  • Request payoffs for buyer as necessary
  • Request bring-to-dates as needed
  • Assist in post-closing duties as needed
  • Phone duty as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of all clients and transaction information
  • Follow company policies and TDI guidelines
  • Participate in ongoing training on escrow processes and company procedure
  • Maintain Notary Public commission in good standing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 1-3 years’ service with Green Brick Title, or similar experience with another title company.
  • Proficient with Qualia.
  • Escrow License required for regulatory compliance with transaction functions.
  • Notary Public, required.
  • Strong knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow/title industry, particularly related to single family development and lot takedowns
  • High level understanding title exceptions and curative actions.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.  Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
