We are currently looking for a Therapist III to join our emergency services team that provides essential crisis intervention services to the community.

The Department of Community Services currently offers a $2,000.00 Program Stipend for full-time clinical position employees who work in Emergency / Crisis Services or Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) programs. Also, the Department of Community Services currently offers a $1,000.00 Program Stipend for part-time clinical position employees who work in Emergency / Crisis Services or Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) programs. The program stipend will be paid out biweekly.

This position qualifies for a $5,000 hiring bonus. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments as funds permit. The first installment of $2,500 is payable upon the County's first regular pay date following your position start, and the final $2,500 installment will be payable on the pay date following the completion of probation.

About this role:

We are currently looking for a Therapist III to join our Emergency Services team that provides essential crisis intervention services to the community. In this role, you will provide supervision to staff, do assessments of client needs, and connect the person with an appropriate level of resources to help reduce future crises. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provides crisis intervention services in a 24/7 program.
  • Conducts interviews and makes recommendations for community resources.
  • Provides outreach, assessment, linkage to and coordination with other service providers.
  • Provides crisis intervention for clients, including those at high risk for suicide/homicide-under supervisory guidance, evaluates risk and potential need for hospitalization.
  • Develops and implements risk management plans.
  • Maintains records according to agencys policies and procedures, prepares reports.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and professional development activities.
  • Provide supervision and evaluation to Therapist IIs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or related behavioral science field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience providing clinical services to Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
  • Must possess an unrestricted LCSW or LPC license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Preferences:

  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Eligible to provide clinical supervision towards licensure.
  • Experience with conducting risk assessments.
  • Experience with supervising clinical staff.
  • Experience working in a behavioral health setting.
  • Experience collaborating with other departments & stakeholders.

Schedule Requirements:

Must be available for daytime and evening hours.

Must pass DMV record check

Must pass TB test

Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglect maintained by the Department of Social Services.

Starting Salary Range: $82,777.50 - $111,033.00
