Job Details

Responsibilities: • The Emergency Department Technician performs approved activities related to patient care and the functioning of the Emergency Department. • Adheres to Mercy Medical Center/department policies and procedures and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements. • Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times. • Delivers direct care to patients and creates a safe comfortable environment. • Assists with selected procedures associated with admission, discharge and transfer of patients. • Documents in the Electronic Medical Record. • Assists with transfer of patient to a bed, wheelchair or stretcher utilizing patient care equipment safely as needed. • Performs and maintains competencies related to EKGs, glucose testing and phlebotomy. • Participates in customer service activities.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. • One year satisfactory experience as a Nurses Aide in a hospital or prior EMT experience preferred. • Good communication skills/speaks and writes clearly. • BLS required.

Salary Range

USD $27.68 - USD $27.68 /Hr. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
