ER - Patient Advocate - Nights - Tampa

Position Details ---------------

• Status: Full Time
• Facility: St. Josephs Hospital - Emergency Room
• Location: Tampa, Florida
• Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, including every other weekend

Responsibilities ----------------

The ER - Patient Advocate serves as a liaison between Emergency Room patients, physicians, staff, and family members. Assures patient and family needs are met and handles patient or family member complaints, concerns, and questions. Performs all department translations, to include medical translations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements ------------

• Required specific skill of: Bilingual needs to be Spanish and English.
• Required completion of Medical Interpretation training school within 30 days of hire.
• Medical Doctor from non-US foreign school can be accepted in lieu of Bachelors Degree.
• Healthcare Interpreter certification is preferred.

Education ----------

• Bachelors Degree - Related field
• Bachelors Degree - Social Services or Healthcare is preferred
• Education specialization:
• Social Services Counseling
• Healthcare Informatics
• Credential equivalent experience:
• RN Registered Nurse is preferred
