Job Description
An ER EMT Technician, or Emergency Room Technician (ERT), supports the nursing and medical staff in a hospital emergency department by providing basic patient care, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a safe and organized environment.
ER EMT Technician
Under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or Registered Nurse, in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing delegation and supervision guidelines, assists with a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities.

Qualifications
Experience: One year EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certified in the State of Virginia as an EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Paramedic (required) and maintains National Registered status (preferred). AHA BLS - HCP, and ACLS required. PALS, Haz Mat Awareness, NRP and PHTLS or BTLS required within one year from date of hire.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must maintain continuing education hours to meet re-certification status as required by State and National standards.
