Job Description
An ER EMT-Technician, or Emergency Department Technician, provides technical support and patient care in a hospital emergency room, assisting physicians and nurses with various tasks, including vital signs, patient transport, and preparing equipment.
ER EMT-Technician
Under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or Registered Nurse, in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing delegation and supervision guidelines, assists with a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities.

Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical program in paramedic studies preferred.
Experience: One year EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certified in the State of Virginia as an EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Paramedic (required) and maintains National Registered status (preferred). AHA BLS - HCP, and ACLS required. PALS, Haz Mat Awareness, NRP and PHTLS or BTLS required within one year from date of hire.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must maintain continuing education hours to meet re-certification status as required by State and National standards.
