Position Summary
The Equipment Technician is responsible for providing maintenance and service for branch equipment, other than company vehicles. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing small engines and all other equipment used for lawn applications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Repair and maintenance of all equipment
- Maintain the restricted status of chemical storage facility and keep it in a safe, clean, and orderly status
- Maintain the facility in a clean and orderly fashion
- Ensure trash and debris are removed from the grounds
- Transport vehicles and equipment for repair outside the facility
- Provide assistance with filling tanks with fertilizers and pesticides
- Offload and Inventory deliveries
- PPE must be worn and used in accordance with the instructions provided. (PPE will be provided)
Other Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications / Attributes
- Must possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license
- Must have small engine repair experience
- Driving record must pass insurability test
- Must obtain TDA Commercial Applicator certificate license within 30 days of employment. Training provided and fees paid by Emerald Island.
- Must obtain forklift certification within 30 days of employment
- Be able to demonstrate the math skills necessary to read fill charts and correctly measure liquids and solids
- Must be at least 18 years or older
- Saturdays as needed
Education and Experience
- Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of related experience
- Forklift Certified (Preferred)
- OSHA Certified (Preferred)
Minimum Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to use computer keyboard and monitor for extended periods
- Walking, standing, bending, reaching, and twisting
- Able to lift 75 lbs.
- Repetitive use of hands
